Community Volunteering Opportunity with Pine Hollow Arboretum (!)

We’re celebrating Earth Day in the best possible! On Saturday, April 18th from 10am-12pm, there is a volunteer opportunity that is open to the community to work with Pine Hollow Arboretum! Take the morning to volunteer with your friends and neighbors as we help with both indoor and outdoor work, such as

• Spring Mulching! We have plenty of garden beds and areas that need to be mulched/ wood chipped, including the front garden bed, waterfall area, entrance sign bed, trails and Fruition Grove
• Tasks that support our upcoming fundraiser- we’ll have volunteers help tie bows around auction items and over 40+ trees that were purchased by donors of the arboretum.
• Light cleaning of the visitor center- dusting, windexing windows etc.

Recommended Attire:

• Long Sleeves and pants.
• Rain Boots or hiking boots that are waterproof and you don’t mind getting muddy
• Pine Hollow has work gloves, but feel free to bring your own if you’d like

This volunteer opportunity is open to all ages; the only requirement is completion of the waiver that will be sent via email. You can also stop into the clubhouse to fill this waiver out! A to-go lunch will be provided for all volunteers who attend.

The Pine Hollow Arboretum is located at 34 Pine Hollow Rd. Slingerlands, NY 12159. If you are using Google Maps you can simply plug in “Pine Hollow Arboretum”, but for any other GPS system please enter our physical address. Parking is located around the circular driveway at the end of Pine Hollow Rd. Staff will be available to help direct people.
