May 22 @ 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
| We welcome William Lindau from Cornell Cooperative Extension to host a Climate Change Presentation. The topic for this discussion is “Climate Adaptation and Mitigation”: Climate change is already affecting communities around the world and here in the Capital Region, but there are practical solutions that can help reduce risks and build resilience. This presentation will explore the difference between climate change mitigation—reducing greenhouse gas emissions to slow climate change—and adaptation, which involves preparing communities for impacts that are already occurring. Participants will learn about real-world strategies being taken by New York communities to help address climate change, as well as what they as individuals can do to live more sustainability. |
